Cake care 101
Always carry your cakes from the bottom, making sure to not push in the sides as this can ruin the design.
When collecting your order make sure that inside your car is cool (buttercream icing and chocolate will melt in the heat!) and that you transport it on a flat surface, e.g. the footwell or boot, NOT a seat. Drive carefully.
Store your cake in the fridge still in the box until you are ready to serve. If this is not possible you can keep at room temp or in a cool dry place away from heat and sunlight.
Buttercream will harden in the fridge so be sure to take your cake out of refrigeration before you wish to cut. This will allow the cake to soften slightly and be most delicious! Remember to take out any inedible decoration such as toppers and artificial flowers.
If there are any leftovers, this can be wrapped in clingfilm or an airtight container. The cake box is no longer suitable as the exposed sponge will dry out. Place back into the fridge for up to a week or 3 months in the freezer. However cakes are best consumed within 2-3 days.
Once the cake has left my hands, I cannot be held responsible for the safety and care.
